Forest Talk Tuesdays

with Keith, local plant guide

For this new monthly series from Tie-Dyed Guide we’re slowing things down and taking a closer look at what’s growing in the forests of the northern Berkshires—with the help of a local plant expert!

Did you love the trails of the area, but wish you knew more about the tremendous variety of plants all around us? Join us for Forest Talk Tuesdays!

Every month on the 4th Tuesday at 5:00 pm from spring through fall, we’ll gather for an easygoing 1 to 1.5 hour walk at a different location in the Mount Greylock region—North Adams, Williamstown, and Adams.

Led by Keith Kurman, a local plant professional, we’ll stop occasionally to learn about the plants around us.

These relaxed woodland walks (never strenuous!) are designed for curiosity, conversation, and connection with the landscape.

Keith, a longtime local grower, landscaper, and native plant expert with more than 20 years of professional experience working with the flora of the Berkshires and New England.

Along the trail, he’ll introduce participants to the plants, trees, ferns, and wild species that make these forests so unique — sharing how they grow, where they thrive, their ecological roles, and the stories behind them. Keith has a gift for making plant knowledge approachable, fascinating, and fun.

Think of it as part nature walk, part forest bathing, and part outdoor classroom — a welcoming group experience for anyone who wants to spend more intentional time in the woods, and away from desks, walls, and screens!

Join for a $10/month subscription, which provides access to one guided walk each month through the fall. No worries if you don’t want to sign up for the monthly subscription: we offer a $20 drop-in option as well.

Join Keith and me for the next Forest Talk Tuesday walk on Tuesday, May 26th at 5:30 pm!
